Trainers are strongly requested to note the following conditions of this race which are slightly different to the conditions of the race in years gone by. This race is for five yrs old and upwards, which have been placed in the first four on at least one occasion in a Pertemps Hurdle Race (Series Qualifier) since the start of the current season and the distance of the race is 3 miles. Elimination and Balloting Procedures: The British Horseracing Authority has modified paragraph 19 of the Race Administration Code such that a winner of a Pertemps Hurdle Series Qualifier, since the start of the current season, will be protected from elimination, provided the horse is set to carry 10st 2lb or above at the close of declarations at the 48-hour stage. (Jockey claims not to be taken into account). PLEASE NOTE: The BHA has modified paragraph 15 of the Weights and Handicapping Code such that a novice horse shall only be qualified to run in this race if it has run a minimum of five times in Hurdle races in Great Britain, Ireland or France.
At the request of the Irish Racehorse Trainers Association, there is an EXTRA race added to this meeting - a 4+ h'cap (70 = 10st) over 1m and 4f (Race 17G) which closes for entries along with the rest of the Dundalk Meeting by 12 noon on Monday 20 January.

In Handicap Hurdles (namely The Coral Cup H'cap H'dle, The County H'cap H'dle and The Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys H'cap H'dle) PLEASE NOTE: The BHA has modified paragraph 15 of the Weights and Handicapping Code such that a novice horse shall only be qualified to run in this race if it has run a minimum of five times in Hurdle Races in Great Britain, Ireland or France. In relation to the Boodles Juvenile H'cap H'dle there is no change as a novice shall only be qualified to run in this race if it has run a minimum of three times in Hurdle Races in Great Britain, Ireland or France.

Click HereTrainers please note the enforcement of the 15-days training rule required to participate in a race in France, effective from 12th November 2024. In accordance with Article 111 of the Rules of Racing (Entrainement d’un cheval entrainé hors de France du Code des Courses au Galop), any horse trained outside of France and entered in a public race in France must be duly declared by its trainer via the France Galop website (Site Pro) at least 15 days before the race the horse will be entered. From now on, if a horse is not declared via the France Galop website at least 15 days prior to the race, the entry will be invalidated. The explanatory guide, can be emailed (in English) if so required and will be available in the next few days. The date from which a horse is authorized to race will be visible in “My training list” section.
The BHA has confirmed that a restriction on overseas-trained runners in Class 5 & 6 Flat Handicaps and Classified Flat Races has been removed. The restriction will be lifted from the end of the turf season in Britain, affecting races staged from Monday 11th November onwards.

Trainers are reminded that in accordance with Equine Influenza Vaccinations Rule 91(ii), a horse shall not be qualified to start if a vaccine has been administered within the previous seven days. For the avoidance of doubt, there must be six clear days between vaccination and Raceday.
In order for a foreign-trained horse to be entered in a public race in France for the first time, the horse must be duly declared by the trainer on the France Galop website at least 15 days prior to the day of the race in which the horse is due to take part. This declaration must include its full designation including name, sex, year of foaling, coat, breeding (sire, dam, dam's sire) and the suffix of the country of birth. Furthermore, if the race takes place more than 15 days after the entry closing, the declaration above must be made no later than the day before the general entry closing day. If an entry is not registered due to a non-compliance with this provision, no appeal may be lodged.

Click HereTrainers are reminded that Horses rated 102 or less over hurdle that have run in at least 3 or more Handicap Hurdles (Handicap Hurdles with any rating band) may be allowed straight into a handicap chase on a weight equivalent to their hurdle mark. All cases are at the discretion of the handicapper.
In view of the requirement for one stable for every declared runner at racemeetings, Horse Racing Ireland would like to remind Trainers that every effort will be made to ensure we can obtain the maximum number of runners that the stable capacity limit will allow at all racemeetings. Trainers are asked to note that field size limits in races are being altered right up to declaration time (10am) to maximise the number of runners each day based on stable capacity.
