Killarney officials have expressed their delight at the prospect of Frankie Dettori’s impending debut at the track next week.
The hugely popular Italian jockey is enjoying a sensational campaign in Britain, highlighted by his tally of seven winners at Royal Ascot and last Saturday’s comeback victory for the dual Arc heroine Enable in the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown.
Killarney will stage its five-day July Festival from Monday to Friday next week – and Dettori is set to be riding on Wednesday’s card at the picturesque County Kerry circuit.
Philip O’Brien, racing manager at Killarney Racecourse said: “We are absolutely thrilled to have Frankie ride at Killarney racecourse on Wednesday.
“He is a household name who transcends the confines of racing, and we are delighted that racegoers will get the chance to see such a racing legend in the flesh.
“It will definitely be the highlight of our July Festival – and we are looking forward to a few of his famous flying dismounts in County Kerry.”
